RICHIE WALKER - "A GIRL'S JOURNEY"

Coach Walker is a native of New Zealand, who moved to North America in 1994.  He has been coaching in the U.S. for the last 15 years.  He currently serves as the Head Coach of the USA Women's 7s national team, and a backs coach for the USA Women's 15s national team.  He has also provided support as an assistant to the USA Men's 7s program, SoCal Griffins 7s, and the San Diego Surfers Touch Team.  Additional teams coached by Richie include the San Diego Old Aztec's, OMBAC, and San Diego State University.  He currently works for USA Rugby, and ATAVUS, based out of Seattle, which was formerly known as Serevi Rugby.  Contact Richie at rwalker(at)usarugby.org.

HANNAH LOCKWOOD - "THE OPPORTUNITY WE ARE MISSING"

Hannah has spent her time over the past few years investing in the local SoCal community, while working to develop athletes participating in all age grades.  Hannah has a special passion for growing and developing girls rugby, and recently launched the San Diego Girls Rugby program.  This non-contact girls only league is designed to increase girls participation in the game.  From activating youth programs, to coaching high performing athletes, Hannah has a deep passion for elevating the game of rugby in the local SoCal community.  She also serves in multiple professional roles within the Institute of Rugby.  To contact Hannah, email her at hannah@instituteofrugby.com.

LES SPELLMAN - "Physical preparation for athletic development"

Les Spellman is an Olympic speed and performance coach who currently works with USA Rugby, Atavus Rugby, and many other professional athletes.  He has trained over 40 high-performance athletes in preparation for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.  He coached speed to aid USA Rugby in becoming the fastest men's team in World Rugby in 18 months time.  He currently coaches a variety of NFL players, and serves as a Combine Trainer for top NFL draft prospects.  He worked directly at draft camp with the NFL's #1 rated pick, Jameis Winston.  He also coached the Colombian Olympic Team, prior to competition in Rio in 2016.  Les coaches from a biomechanical standpoint, focusing on correction of major energy leaks, and building form to increase power.  Les can be contacted at Les.spellman(at)gmail.com.
