MONROE, NC – First15 Sport Performance has partnered with Life University Women’s Rugby to manage event operations of the upcoming Life University Women’s Rugby Invitational Tournament, taking place at Lupo Family Field on April 8-9, 2017. A number of teams have already reserved their place within elite and open brackets for this premier college and high school women’s rugby competition.
This event highlights the growth of 7-a-side competition, and is looking to continue after previous festival competitions hosted in connections with the HSBC Atlanta Sevens. This year’s festival is also open to men’s high school athletes, individual athletes looking to join a team, and teams interested in both the 15s and sevens versions of the game. Rosalind Chou, Head Coach of the Life University Women’s Rugby team, enlisted assistance from First15 to ensure high-quality support for this important event.
“Working with First15 to integrate mental skills training into our programming has made a major impact on our decision-making as a coaching staff. Entrusting management of this event to their team allows us to focus on coaching, while securing support from those who also have extensive sport management experience.” said Chou.
First15 staff and volunteers welcome the opportunity to provide support for the Life University athletic department team to ensure every aspect of hosting a major event is managed to create a safe, competitive, and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants. Atlanta Youth Rugby will also be involved by offering youth athletes an opportunity to view high-level women’s rugby, and play important roles in the success of the event as honor guard, and youth exhibitions.
“Life University is a consistent leader in developing the sport of rugby, especially in the southern region of the U.S. We could not ask for a more ideal facility and group of dedicated professionals to work with in hosting an event that is critical to the growth of the game for collegiate and high school rugby, said First15 Director of Performance, Katie Wurst.
Administrators and coaches interested in registering their teams for the Life University Women’s Rugby Sevens Invitational Tournament can contact Katie Wurst directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, and CLICK HERE to register for this event.
