First15 Announces ‘With You’ Giving Partnership with Project Rugby Love

For Immediate Release
February 20, 2017

MONROE, NC – The recent launch of the spring schedule of 5in15 professional development seminars offers opportunities to provide game knowledge and support across the U.S.  As an additional means of increasing positive sport participation, First15 is announcing a partnership with Project Rugby Love, an organization dedicated to sharing positivity, and providing financial support for the growth of the game, through the sale of rugby merchandise.

First15 Sport Performance is proud to support their efforts by increasing exposure and reach of their philanthropic mission with integration into the 5in15 professional development program.

Each host for a 5in15 seminar has the opportunity to nominate a non-profit as a ‘With You’ sanctioned charitable cause, where a percentage of registration fees will be donated to support development projects on behalf of both Project Rugby Love and First15 Sport Performance.  Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase PRL’s merchandise at all 5in15 seminars and First15 events that gives back to meaningful rugby causes. Both organizations will work together to spread the mission of rugby love, learning, and game development in the U.S. and beyond.

“We’re really excited about working with First15 and want to thank them for including us in this series. They’ve always selflessly contributed to growing and supporting rugby and this is no different. This is a great opportunity to bring a diverse range of knowledge to a wider audience so that everyone in rugby can benefit,” said Jenny Lui, co-founder of Project Rugby Love.

In addition to being able to support philanthropic efforts by attending a 5in15 seminar, individuals can also purchase a ‘With You’ ticket for $10 to any seminar where proceeds are donated to the charitable cause earmarked for each location.  This allows all participants to provide financial support for both local and national initiatives to grow the game, even if they are unable to attend a seminar in person.

“We understand the challenge of finding time and money to help support the growth of the game.  Purchasing a ‘With You’ ticket to any 5in15 seminar or buying any Project Rugby Love item provides an opportunity to not only support grassroots development, but also play a role in developing a nationwide movement to share knowledge to enhance performance and enjoyment of the sport.  We couldn’t ask for better partners than Project Rugby Love to make this opportunity possible,” said First15 Director of Performance, Katie Wurst.

A full schedule of 5in15 seminars is available at www.first15sport.com/5in15.  Those interested in purchasing a ‘With You’ ticket for any 5in15 seminar can do so at any time via the seminar registration page.  To learn more about Project Rugby Love and their mission to share positivity, and to see a full range of their swag that gives back, please visit http://www.projectrugbylove.com,. First15 Set to Launch Spring Schedule of “5in15” Professional Development Seminars

January 11, 2017 – With every new year comes resolutions to make a positive difference, and seek professional development.  First15 Sport Performance is committed to making learning opportunities a reality by creating a series of seminars focused on sharing sport and performance knowledge and resources.  This exciting new program, known as “5in15”, includes panels of knowledgeable experts located in various regions of the United States.  A typical 5in15 seminar features three or more presenters sharing fifteen minutes of valuable information, with the aid of up to five multimedia resources, and an interactive question segment.  These features bring a typical 5in15 seminar to a maximum of two hours of valuable professional development, focused on a range of topics from sports medicine, coaching, mental skills, officiating, administration, and many additional areas of sport and performance-based knowledge.

To launch the 2017 Spring 5in15 schedule, First15 will be working with several individuals to deliver original content as recorded virtual sessions while in attendance at the USA Rugby National Development Summit (NDS) in Baltimore on January 13-15th. These sessions will be released by First15 parallel to the NDS conference. In the spirit of promoting accessibility, this first virtual seminar will be shared free of charge through First15 social media platforms, including Facebook and Youtube.  Future seminars will be offered at an affordable cost of $10 per attendant ($100 per program) in a variety of locations.

“We are greatly looking forward to extending learning experiences to the masses, while also creating a unique opportunity for dedicated professionals to practice the art of sharing their knowledge and expertise with others.  Everyone involved has the opportunity to improve performance, while maximizing usage of their time and financial resources.” said First15 Director of Performance, Katie Wurst.

First15 will be releasing the full schedule of 5in15 seminars following the NDS.  In addition to shared knowledge, participants who attend a 5in15 seminar at any location earn three USA Rugby professional development credits.  A major goal of the project is to inspire participants to learn more about additional professional development opportunities, while also raising the profile of a diverse array of dedicated volunteers and professionals.

“Inclusivity and connection are two focal points for this program.  We want individuals to be inspired to become a certified coach, or attend a grassroots referee clinic, or volunteer at an event after they gain knowledge and confidence from attending a 5in15 seminar.  The potential for such a wide-range of presenters, topics, and grassroots mobilization is limitless, and we are eager to make it happen.” said Wurst.

SALT LAKE CITY - First15 Sport Performance is proud to partner with USA Rugby to take on the administrative functions of managing the second year of the Women's Rugby Super Series competition taking place in Salt Lake City. Rugby Utah and Utah Sports Commission have also played a major role in bringing women's national squads from Canada, England, France, and the USA Women's Eagles to Regional Athletic Complex for this elite level round-robin tournament.

All national squads are set to make use of training facilities at University of Utah in preparation for competition on July 1, 5, and 9. Regional Athletic Complex (RAC) provides a high-quality and scenic backdrop for this competition that serves as a critical element of the preparation process leading to Women's Rugby World Cup 2017. The Women's Rugby Super Series competition returns to North America after being held in Alberta, Canada, in 2015. All matches will be played on RAC's high-quality championship athletic field and facilitated by First15 Sport Performance as key providers of sport and event management services.

"It is a privilege for First15 to work with USA Rugby to manage the Women's Rugby Super Series," First15 Director of Operations Katie Sjeklocha said. The support from the University of Utah, the Utah Sports Commission, and Rugby Utah has been critical throughout the planning process, and we look forward to being a part of history in International women's rugby."

The state of Utah regularly utilizes RAC to host elite sport competitions on the 140-acre facility that features a total of 16 high-caliber fields, all within 15 minutes of Salt Lake City International Airport. Included in its regular event schedules are competitions directed by members of the state-wide Utah rugby community, whose volunteer efforts have been integral to preparing for the Super Series event. As the governing body of rugby within the state, Rugby Utah has worked tirelessly to create opportunities to promote elite competitions, professional management, and grass roots development.

In addition to the senior national team athletes participating in the Super Series, First15 and USA Rugby will also be hosting top prospects for the AIG Women's Collegiate All-Americans (WCAA) and AIG Women's Junior All-Americans' (WJAA) Stars and Stripes developmental matches July 2. Athletes participating in these assemblies have the opportunity to be selected to represent the WCAA side against Canada Maple Leafs in curtain-raisers for the second and final competition dates of the Super Series July 5 and 9. Around 130 athletes will be featured in a USA jersey at multiple levels of competition throughout the first week in July. USA Rugby Partners with First15 Sport Performance to Manage Atlanta Sevens Festival

For Immediate Release
Submitted by USA Rugby and First15 Sport Performance, LLC
February 10, 2016

USA Rugby Partners with First15 Sport Performance to Manage Atlanta Sevens Festival

BOULDER– After the success of last year’s inaugural event, USA Rugby is teaming up with First15 Sport Performance, LLC (First15) to enhance the experience for teams participating in the official 2016 Atlanta Sevens Festival on April 8th and 9th. Applications have already been received from a number of elite and social teams in brackets for high school, college, and club rugby programs, with spaces to fill.

The ancillary tournament was created as an opportunity for athletes, coaches, and referees to compete, while supporting the USA Women’s Eagles Sevens team as they test themselves in the HSBC Atlanta Sevens event taking place the same weekend in Georgia. This year’s festival is also open to men’s high school athletes, individual athletes looking to join a team, and teams interested in both the 15s and sevens versions of the game. USA Rugby Director of International Events Kellie Cavalier enlisted assistance from First15, as they have experience with this specific event, and will bring an international feel to the domestic competition.

“We knew First15 was the best option to provide support for this event as their staff is well versed in creating high-quality competition experiences,” Cavalier said. “In order to ensure the best experience for all involved it is vital that we work with a partner who has extensive sport management experience and is committed to this particular event.”

First15 Director of Performance Katie Wurst served as tournament director at the inaugural festival on behalf of USA Rugby, which featured 24 teams competing on three quality pitches on the pristine grounds of the Lakepoint Sporting Community and Town Center located in Emerson, GA. Staff and volunteers associated with First15 support expansion of the inaugural event, and offer additional benefits to coaches, referees, and parents to enhance the quality of the participation experienced. First15 welcomes the opportunity to build on this unique event, as it is one of the only ancillary tournaments offered on the Women’s Sevens Series circuit.

“The Festival is an important part of the growth of the HSBC Atlanta Sevens International Tournament, and it is a truly unique feature found on the World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series,” USA Rugby Director of Operations Jennifer Gray said. “It provides our fans with an opportunity to play the game, and support the Women’s National Sevens team that will be representing the U.S. in the Olympic Games in Rio this summer.”

First15 Sport Performance also plans to offer additional rugby development opportunities as options running alongside the festival to those interested in expanding game understanding.  USA Rugby will be offering continuing education credits for coaches who attend this session and additional details will be made available as presenters are confirmed. Administrators and coaches interested in registering their teams for the tournament can contact Wurst directly at kwurst@first15sport.com with questions and visit https://form.jotform.com/50128259316958 to register and reserve a place at this year’s Atlanta Sevens Festival. Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Teams are encouraged to register as soon as possible to confirm participation.

MINNEAPOLIS - First15 Sport Performance is among the list of participants at the largest professional assembly of rugby coaches, referees, and administrators in the U.S.  The 2016 USA Rugby National Development Summit (NDS), taking place in San Francisco, CA, features presentations, clinics, networking events, and an exhibit hall dedicated to sharing best practices in rugby development from domestic and international experts.  First15 will be present as an exhibitor and offering information about mental skills training and additional service offerings to over 500 attendees.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this critical event for the sport of rugby in the U.S., and are looking forward to sharing what we have to offer with the conference participants, “said Katie Sjeklocha, Director of Operations. “I can think of no better place to officially communicate our company’s presence than this event.”

The NDS is also known as a hub for high performance activities, where First15 will be tasked with delivering mental skills training to elite athletes and support staff, while attending meetings in the interest of developing strategic partnerships.  Katie Wurst, Director of Performance, played a major role in developing the NDS in past roles with USA Rugby and is looking forward to increasing awareness of First15’s potential for developing the game.

“The NDS has made great strides in linking grassroots and high performance rugby development, which truly matches the mission of First15 Sport Performance.  We are looking forward to working with dedicated coaches, referees, and administrators to enhance their programs,” said Wurst.

First15 Sport Performance’s event booth will be located directly inside the entrance to the NDS exhibit hall.  Staff members will be available throughout the conference to share information and answer questions.  NDS participants can also enter to win services and prizes in the exhibit hall.  Interested individuals are encouraged to make contact via email at info@first15sport.com and social media at @first15sport at any time.
